Biography
Dr Ayyaz Sultan treats all aspects of adult heart disease, from chest pain, palpitations and breathlessness to hard-to-treat blood pressure, heart failure and PoTS. He completed his cardiology training in Sheffield in 2013, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and has been a consultant in the UK since 2015.
He is the Cardiac Catheter Lab and PCI Lead at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, where he has performed more than 3,000 diagnostic coronary angiograms and over 1,400 balloon and stent procedures.
Patients describe him as calm, thorough and easy to talk to. Many arrive after years of inconclusive tests elsewhere, and leave with a clear explanation and a plan.
